Hello fashion friends. Cheers to you and the coming New Year! It's tough not to think and reflect on the past year on this eve of 2008. To think back to the fun times. The great memories. And lots of firsts. (My first trip to Singapore, Australia, Poland, and Germany. So much new knowledge. So…
Yearly Archives: 2007
I’m grateful to have had the last couple weeks to be in Charlotte – to organize, work, relax, celebrate Christmas, and get ready for 2008. I’m also reflecting on so many great things that happened in my life in 2007. I hope you’re enjoying the holiday season. Here are some of my favorite fashion moments…

Hey girl! You look gorgeous in all of these!! My two faves are the salmon colored dress in the beach photo on the first row and the turquoise print dress on the third row. I remember when you posted that one. I was inspired by your combination of tights and shoes with that dress.
Hope you had a great Christmas! I am here in Vietnam. I totally enjoyed reading Yes!Attitude on the flight over here. Thanks again so much!!
Take care,
Carrie
My favorite fashion find in ’07 was a DVF vintage wrap dress in two of my favorite colors – beige and black. And today, I purchased a lovely casual Ralph Lauren cardigan and slacks, which I’m anxious to wear.
The montage of your wardrobe are fabulous and inspiring. Happy 2008 and all the best for a fashion-filled year!
Jessica,
I have enjoyed reading your blog since finding it through Ali’s. You, like your sister, are very inspiring. Just in a different way. I love seeing your travels, food, restaurants, stylish clothes, and great hairdos. I must ask you how you developed your style? I want to look better and dress better and just feel great about my look as often as I can. What advice would you give a 33yr. old mom who wants to be hip and sexy and full of confidence from here on out!
By the way, that nasty poster is WAY jealous and probably insecure. When I come across someone who is talented or gifted in some way I want to compliment them. I appreciate fabulous people/things. Keep up the great work!
Jessica–I noticed your comment on Ali’s most recent blog posting and, wondering who you were, I found myself here and realized you’re her baby sister. How adorable you are, too! I’m subscribing to your blog and can’t wait to see what other style-tips you have to share.
By the way, my husband is a salesman and I asked him if he knows Jeffrey Gitomer (because I learned of him on your blog). He’s read a few of his (and your) books. Small world…Ali leads me to you and you lead me to a sales writer my husband reads. Fun stuff.
Jessica, What I’ve admired the most about your blog since I’ve started visiting a couple months ago is your self-confidence. And you always post with class. I wish you a Happy New Year and can’t wait to see more of the latest in clothes, hairstyles (my fav), and your wonderful travels in 2008.
Hi Jessica! You are such an inspiration! Must run in the family. I’m a stay at home Mom and I don’t get dressed up too often so I love to see the cute casual looks you come up with. Happy New Year! Kerry
I’m gonna vote for your look when you were in the Bahamas (?) the melon-colored dress that you wore with those cute Dior open-toed sandals (the single pic in the second row of pics). You looked so chic and at peace there and the outfit looked divine with your tan.
I’m a frequent reader and I enjoy what you post! Have a great 2008!
i’m going to vote too…fave look is the dress, second row from the bottom, looks like a cream belt.
but, my fave picture of you is the close-up right above the purple/red/black dress picture.
also, your response to cnn taught me something. it made me think of how i would have responded…and unfortunately, i tend to sink to the level of someone like that (which is horrible!) I loved how you responded and will try to apply the technique to my own life when needed. i admire your confidence.
might you post some of your goals/hopes for 08? I bet you are spending new year’s eve somewhere lovely. have fun and be safe.
So fun! Who makes the jacket in the 7th row, center picture? I can’t afford most of the designer items you wear, but that one had me drooling. I like the (very slight) punk tones to the bottom straps.
Happy New Years!
I know you didn’t ask us, your readers, for our favorite look of yours, but I have to vote–I love that picture of you-it’s the third one down from the top, on the left, with your hair pulled back. I remember when you posted that and talked about having a little bit of a tan then and I was envious that you get to see sun at times of the year when I don’t. Also love the photo of you with the short tan coat, wearing the sunglasses.
As for favorite looks of myself, I’m trying to grow out a baaaaaaaad haircut, so my favorite look is my hair pre-cut. Ugh.
Happy New Year!
Hi Jessica,
Just wanted to thank you for your blog and the inspiration you provide. Just bought Zoe’s book and have found it and your blog to be just the challenge I need to live a more stylish life!
All the best in 2008!

Hi Jessica,
Absolutely loved your repsonse to ‘CNN’ – he or she obviously knows nothing about you.
Anyway… great photo montage – fun to reflect on the year’s fashion choices.
Have a Happy New Year!!
love your blog. found it through ali’s. love her blog too! can’t wait to see what fashion inspirations 2008 brings for you!!
happy new year!!
Well stated Jessica. And as always, well styled. Happy New Year!
I’m happy to hear you had a great holiday! What did you do to celebrate away from your family? I’m also curious to hear what little gems Santa brought you!
Love the photo montage, Jessica. Happy New Year and God Bless.
gorgeous! let’s trade wardrobes for 2008, eh?
Hi Jessica
I second Ksea’s comments. As “snarky” as I can be at times, I’ve never once thought of you as conceited or full of yourself – just someone passionate about clothes and wanting to share your passion. So there!
I’ve enjoyed the clothes you document – and frankly – want that blue/white dress that has overtones of Pucci!
Happy New Year!
Carol
Love the retrospective, Jess! I am glad you had a great Holiday!
i have truly enjoyed reading your blog since linking through ali’s site.
the internet is full of nasty people and i am glad to see you are impervious to their taunting.
the retrospective collage was a visual diary of your outfits this past year. if the loathsome poster was a regular reader of this blog they would know that.
looking forward to your postings in 2008.
Hi CNN,
Thanks for visiting. I especially enjoy when people leave challenging comments to me on my blog – but don’t have the guts or the internal fortitude to provide their real name or their own blog address. Perhaps you don’t have your own blog, or your own way to keep a photographic chronicle of your life. I encourage you to do so.
You are correct. I am full of myself. I am happy and confident and excited about life. There’s no reason I can’t post the pictures of myself that I like. If you’re uninterested in my blog, make your own and be proud of it.
Wishing you all the best,
Jessica
You are obviously quite full of yourself.
Glad you had a wonderful holiday!!! Have a very happy New Years!!!
There was a special visitor at this year's Gitomer Christmas party!

Merry Christmas to you guys! I hope you have a wonderful time!
Happy Christmas, Jessica! Beautiful photo.
Great photo… Merry Christmas to you both. I have really enjoyed your blog this year Jessica, and I hope that you will continue to write just as much next year.

You look gorgeous. Marry Christmas!
Hi Anastasia,
At the top of my Christmas list is more time… I think everyone could benefit from that gift this time of year!
Happy Holidays!
Jessica
Awesome
Picture perfect! I miss you two!
Santa Baby…You look beautiful! What’s on the top of your Christmas list Jessica?
That’s an adorable picture! Happy Holidays and many blessings!
Here are three of my favorite ways to wear a scarf – courtesy of Hermes instructional booklet.

Hey – are those the “Ginger” 7 jeans you have in the 12.14 picture? I have some of those on order that should be in today!
So unrelated to your post, but have you visited http://www.decadesinc.blogspot.com? I think of you every time I look at the postings there! It seems like a great resource for vintage clothing and such!

LOVE THIS!
Neat…scarfs with or without these directions would make a wonderful Christmas gift too! Thanks.
Love these ideas – thank you!!
Thanks for the pictures. I wore my scarf today like a headband. It was fun!
I've received several questions about facials and wanted to give a little background on what I do. Since I was little, I've been looking at fashion magazines, seeing the beautiful skin of the models. (I had no idea they were airbrushed.) So in my mind, that was how I wanted my skin to appear. I…

thanks for all the information. you have beautiful skin. i go to a skin specialist every 6 weeks for treatments as well and think they make the world of difference on how healthy my skin looks. the greatest advice she gives me is to read labels! just like with food, you don’t want too many harsh chemcials on your skin. remember it absorbs into your skin and then goes straight to your blood, liver and pancreas. so if you spend a lot of money on products, or just a little…read those labels.
Hi Jessica,
Thanks for all the skin care info. I have wondered about chemical peels, microderm and laser – I am definitely going to look into it now. I really feel that my skin has changed a lot in the last year – stress, sun-damage and lack of sleep are mostly to blame for me.
Love the simple routine – Aveda cleanser for me and either Aveeno, Aveda or Neutrogena daily lotion. I’m looking for a good night cream and eye cream – perhaps I’ll try SkinMedica.
Do you indulge in any spa services regularly? Manicure, pedicure, massage?? Just wondering – you always look so polished and fabulous.
Thanks for sharing,
A.
I’m with Jill, I was happy to see another advocate for a simple routine. For me, if I add too many products, my skin goes nuts. The less I use, the better my skin looks & feels. And hey, I look at it like this-the money I save on skin products can be put towards other things, like clothes!
Thanks Jessica for your skin care tips. I’m happy to hear of another person who keeps a daily routine simple. There are so many products and ads out there to entice us, but I’ve also found that simple is better for me. I use Cetaphil, clindamycin gel in the morning, Differin in the evening (both scripts from my dermatologist) and Eucerin daily face lotion with SPF. Occasionally I’ll pat on a drugstore eye cream. That’s it. I’d highly suggest to anyone the importance of seeing a reputable dematologist. It’s made all the difference in the world for me with breakouts. I’m going to check in with mine about a chemical peel. Thanks for the suggestion.
Bring on the scarf ideas! I love scarfs, wear them often and am always looking for new ideas.
Thanks for sharing all that skin info!! Love it. Now that i’m getting older, i’ve been paranoid with my skin. any thoughts about eye creams/gels?
Thanks for sharing! These tips are very helpful. I’m thinking of starting to use SkinMedica from reading your review and the reviews on the helpful website, http://www.makeupalley.com. You can never really know if I products right for you until you try it but it always helps to hear others. Just thought I’d share the site!
Thanks again!
Thanks Jessica! Sometimes you need a little push, ya know! I think I am going to try out my scarf tomorrow!!
Hi Danielle,
I love scarves. I collect them. And there’s tons of ways to wear them! I’ll post a couple in the next few days for you to view. A couple of my favorites are tying them to a handbag, wearing them in my hair, and wearing them as a bracelet.
Take a risk!
Jessica
Hi Jen,
I have several makeup favorites. Check back for a post just after the first of the year all about makeup.
Thanks for visiting!
Jessica
What are your thoughts on botox later in life?
Thank you for sharing your regiment. You do have gorgeous skin and it’s nice seeing what you do to take care of it. You always have great information and I appreciate you sharing it!! Happy Holidays! Oh one more thing, I was wondering if you like wearing scarves (not the winter kind!)? I have one that is really pretty but I feel weird wearing it!! Just wanted to know what you thought!! TIA!
Thanks for sharing Jess! I have become a bit of a skin freak lately, and appreciate your insight. Would you be willing to share any favorite makeup brands or tips?

Jessica Fulkerson - Do you have a favorite stylist or one whom you follow the work of?
I know you mentioned Rachel Zoe here before. I’m a fan of her work, but so very much not of her so it’s hard for me to separate the two.
