Good times.

Teatro Zinzanni was excellent. A delightful and amazing display of talent. And the food was equally excellent.

Sara Petersen - Jessica,
I’m a huge fan of Jeffreys and I see that you have been editing his latest books……..HOWEVER I was just checking out Jeffrey’s website and it looks very outdated. You’re not given credit for your awesome work! And his pictures and biography look a few years old. Maybe you should suggest that he update his website? As such a popular, important author, it’s nice for his fans to know the latest. Plus of course you’ve made a HUGE contribution.
Hope you will consider my thoughts….
Sara

Henry 1.

Happy 1st Birthday to my nephew Henry! Here’s the special little treat basket I created for the occasion. Henry, your mama is beautiful. And so are you. I’m so happy I could celebrate with you on this special day.

Liz Ness - Awww…happy birthday Henry! Jessica, I met Ali and your mom at a book signing last year. I heard about Henry then and am so happy for you all on celebrating his 1st birthday…so cool!
Best wishes for many, many more!

Karen - Hi Jessica – what a gorgeous gift basket you created for little Henry. I can tell that it was put together with a lot of thought and love. The soft owl in his nest of goodies is perfect!

valerie - what a sweet face – it’s hard to believe it’s been a year already!

Hair.

A response to MM’s comment: Please tell me how you do your hair (products, the steps, etc). It is gorgeous! Thanks MM! It’s been a long time coming to where my hair is now. I believe that I envisioned it looking the way it does now about 9 years ago. I saw the most beautiful…

Jeanette - MM is right, you do have lovely hair. And I take great interest in your hair product recommendations. I used Aveda ages ago but am now using a vegan line who’s name escapes me right now. I like to switch products every once in a while as I feel as though my hair builds-up a tolerance to the product. Your post has me thinking about switching back to Aveda.
And I’ve heard how the Bespoke hair dryer reduces drying time. I currently use the Solano but it takes me just as long to dry my hair as a Conair dryer. Definitely putting Bespoke on my shopping list.
Thanks. :)

MM - Thank you so much! I can’t wait to get the dryer!

Tuesday.

Shoes are the center of every outfit. I prefer to start every outfit creation with a shoe choice. But if there’s another piece that I pick first (like a top or dress) the shoes will always be the second piece. There’s something so delightful about a basic outfit with funky shoes. I visited Nordstrom in…

Jeanette - Very good point – the salesperson should listen to what the customer wants instead of what he thinks is best for you.
My dilemma with shoes is that I’m always scrambling in my closet to find the right pair. I must reorganize my closet and I must get to Nordy’s to stock up!
Happy travels!

valerie - wow – and i thought i was the only one who centered outfits around my shoes!
i don’t look nearly as chic as you do, sweetie!!
obviously – the salesman @ Nordy’s wasn’t confident in his own ability to sell, that’s why i think he needed to tell you what he knew about the shoes, instead of what you want!

Hoot!

Found this adorable owl t-shirt at a boutique in Asheville, North Carolina. Paired with Theory clamdiggers and some cut-out Jil Sander shoes that I found on sale at Barneys. What are you wearing today?

kelly - oooh so adorable!
i need long legs like yours tho ;)

jessica - Valerie, Jeanette, and Karen,
Thanks for sharing your outfits. It’s so fun to hear about what people put together. V, the eyelet blouse sounds fabulous. J, I love sweatpants! And K, love the mix of black and pink.
Happy 4th to everyone!
jessica

Karen - Such a cute outfit, Jessica. Love the owl t-shirt. My outfit today? Musk pink v-neck t-shirt, long black pants, light black cardigan and pink sandals worn to walk my toddler up to the local shops. It’s winter here in Australia but we had a warm day today. You’re inspiring me to put a little more fun into my wardrobe!

Jeanette - Great shirt and great ensemble! Oh how I wish I could wear clamdiggers. And I wish I could say that I’m wearing something stylish right now….a Palm Beach Florida purple tee & red sweatpants. But the day is young and I promise not leave the house dressed like that!

valerie - cuffed jeans, white eyelet blouse and there were some white wedgies involved…they have since been kicked off and are resting comfortably.

Fashion wisdom.

I received this request from Jeannette: I am an avid scrapbooker and attend crops quite frequently. Any suggestions for comfortable casual clothing that doesn’t make me look dowdy? I want to be stylish but comfortable. You’re in luck. Let me do the shopping for you! Crops are your opportunity to be creative, original, imaginative, experimental,…

Ksea Cantonwine - I,too, love True Religion jeans. Have the dark wash and they are comfy. Had to have them hemmed, though.
Love the yellow flats.

Javacurls - Oh this post is too fun! #1 is my pick!
Even though I prefer heels I do love those yellow flats. Love the TR jeans especially those back pockets.

jessica - Hi Suzi,
I don’t have a link for Simon’s Elmer’s t-shirt. I’ve looked everywhere. I got it from Barneys NYC in December last year. I’ll ask Ali to check the tag and put another update here.
Thanks for visiting!
Jessica

kelly - those shoes rock!
i’m such a fan of yellow right now.

Suzi - I love Simon’s T-Shirt. Do you have a link for where to find it? Thank You!

Jeanette - The outfits you recommended are fantabulous. The ensembles do compliment each other. I love bermuda shorts but I’m 5’4″ so they have a tendency to make me look short and dumpy. So I always lean toward fitted jeans or a skirt.
I do appreciate your taking the time to share your recommendations. I’m off to do some online shopping, with thanks to you. :)
