The weekend in New Jersey and Philly proved to be excellent in the food department. They're both great places to be if you're feeling hungry! One of our first stops was McMillan's Bakery in Haddon Township, New Jersey.
Jeffrey has been going here since he was a little boy.
Wow, everything in the store is beautiful.
I had a couple of these cupcakes!
And there were Phillies associated foods and signs all over the place!

I had my first Rita's Water Ice. It's delicious even when it's freezing outside! We also had cheesesteaks, great Italian food, omelettes at the local diner in Haddonfield, hot turkey sandwiches at Ponzio's, and tons of other tasty treats. Jeffrey's high school reunion was fun to attend. My favorite part was hearing the two teachers that were in attendance speak. It's interesting to note that so much of a teacher's real life is hidden behind what they do, that you don't always get to know who they are as people. It makes me want to go back to high school and learn more about the teachers I loved. I was happy to get back home to Charlotte yesterday afternoon. I need to get back onto a healthy eating regime after that crazy weekend of goodies. There's a new restaurant here close that I've been waiting for to open called Noodles & Company. I headed over there last night to check if they were open and they were!
I ordered the Japanese Pan Noodles with chicken. And the best part was that everyone who ate there last night ate for free! Excellent! I went back today for lunch and had the House Marinara with parmesan crusted chicken. If you've been to one of these restaurants, you'll have to let me know what your favorite dish is so I know what to try next!

stephanie - where is there a ritas still open around here?
Monica - Love Noodles. Mac n Cheese and Pesto Cavatappi are favorites in our house.

My favorite item to get is the Trio. You get to pick 3 items: a soup/salad, a meat and a pasta

Kimberly L.C. - Oh my… Noodles & Co. is one of my favorite restaurants! I first discovered it when I lived in Colorado Springs and now I go with my husband to a place a few miles down the road here in San Diego County. The food is so simple, yet so good! I like the mushroom stroganoff with braised beef and broccoli added in, the Thai Noodles with the grilled chicken and extra veggies and the pesto cavatappi with the parmeasan crusted chicken and mushrooms added in!
Really, most everything there is good though, you can’t go wrong!

Barb @ getupandplay - LOVE Noodles & Company! There’s a bunch in Utah and I love ‘em! I’m glad you had fun in Philly- my sister lived there last year and I visited twice!
Tracy - We have Noodles & Company here in Chicago, and though I have yet to eat there, I’ve heard their Macaroni and Cheese is to die for. So although it’s not healthy, I’d say check it out at least once!
Danielle - I love Noodles! You have to try the Mac and Cheese with the flat bread-so yummy. I know it’s a simple meal but they do it right! I also love the Mushroom Stroganoff (i think that is what it’s called)
