Hair Goodies.

I received this comment from Chel: I'd love to know what products you use for your new haircut or any tips and tricks. Here is my current arsenal of hairstyling products and tools…(click on the items to find out more info)           I use Kerastase shampoo and conditioner – and occasionally mix in…

Monica - Bought that Phomollient this week on your recommendation. I am in love! Thanks!

Holly T. - I have used the Aveda products before but am interested in the Kerastase products. Will have to look into those.
What is a T3 hairdryer…does that make a difference?
Thanks for you info! :0)

liz - I’m a total Kerastase fan too! Love checking in with you Jessica and can’t wait to see you and baby-to-be in the next couple weeks. Hugs!

Daphne - Great choices!! One of my favorite products from the Kerastase line is the Ciment Thermique primarily helps protect hair from blow drying and heat styling. Even though my hair is not weak I still like the product. I also love Frederic Fekkai products. Jessica, since you use Aveda I think you would enjoy Prive. :-)
Check it out! http://www.priveproducts.com/index.php

chel - Great stuff! I’m excited to try those products. Thanks!

Little Delights.

Here are some of the delights I'm thinking about right now. 1. I love the idea of this little Guardian lamp by Vessel. 2. Pictures of hairstyle idea inspirations. 3. These adorable cake plates from Frances Palmer Pottery. 4. Mmmm, I can't wait for Thanksgiving this year! 5. Birch giftwrap, the coolest airmail stamps,…

Jeanette - Seeing Gwenyth Paltrow’s photo reminds me of how I meant to share with you her newsletter which she sends almost once a week. It pertains to food, fashion, meditation and anything that is of interest to her that she wishes to share with anyone and everyone. It’s called Goop (www.goop.com).
And thanks for sharing the link on Red Stamp. Am off to check it out now.

Dan @ RedStamp.com - Thanks so much for the mention Jessica. Really love your blog. I forwarded on to everyone in the office. Thanks again!

Jessie - The cake plates would be perfect for little ones first birthday party. Excited that you are coming home for thanksgiving!

Weekend school.

It's great to be back in school! Today I'm taking a course to become a Notary Public. In the textbook is this great Thomas Jefferson quote: "Whenever you are to do a thing, though it can never be known but to yourself, ask yourself how you would act were all the world looking at you, and…

jessica - Hi Daphne,
I’m traveling much less now. But still trying to get to as many of Jeffrey’s events as I can. I’ve always been interested in notary. I don’t have any specific plan for being commissioned – except that it’s a nice contribution to the community to have the ability. Jeffrey will take a couple weeks after the baby is born to be at home – but he doesn’t have an immediate plan for a break from writing and seminars. I hope that we can absorb the baby into as much of our current lifestyle as possible!
Cheers!
Jessica

Carrie in AZ - Hi Jessica! I love your blog and your ‘Todays Style’. Always fun to see what you’re wearing :)
I have a fashion question. My husband and I are planning a 7 day trip to a theme park where we plan on being at the theme parks for 6 of the 7 days, from open to close. We will be visiting when the temperatures will be cold, so I know that I will be wearing jeans and close-toed shoes. In the past, I have typically worn athletic shoes, jeans and polo shirts, but I’m wondering what my options out there are to be fashionable, yet comfortable (especially the shoes since I’ll be walking/standing for about 12 hours each day). What would your words of wisdom be?

Claudia W. - Hi, Jessica! Great course that you’re taking!
Since April I’ve been working on my Bachelor’s degree in English, and it’s going so well. It’s a little tougher to be an adult student, but the challenge is one that is so worth it. :)

tracy - German! My boyfriend and I both love languages and are now studying German for fun.
I miss school sometimes too! Always fun to learn something new.

jenn - How cool Jes!!! Enjoy school :) Learning is always good and usually fun! This weekend I’ve been reading my latest copy of Success Magazine! Learning some great stuff from there!!!
xo

Amy - Very cool–I’m a notary and try to abide by that quote. I had to nicely, but firmly, refuse to notarize some documents for an attorney I used to work for as they were not in compliance and it would have been unethical on my part. She said nobody would know or find out…so glad I stuck to my guns on that one.
This weekend I am learning day trips to Canada are fun and brushing up on my sewing skills.

Ksea Cantonwine - I didn’t know that there were classes for Notaries! That’s cool Jess! I just attended a Human Resources seminar in Tacoma last Thursday. Brushed up on a few things I have already learned from a PHR prep course I took in 2004 and also learned about some new Washington State Leave laws that go above and beyond the Federal statues. It was an eye opener in that respect.

e - how fun! i’m a notary too.
i’m working on homework this weekend (almost finished with my BS in e-business). right now i’m learning about e-business management.

Daphne - Hey Jessica that’s great! I’m working on my Masters degree in English Literature. I have been studying the history of fashion and will be writing on that topic for a final paper. I thought about you because I have done so much reading and I have so many great books on Gabrielle Chanel, Guccio Gucci, Adele Fendi etc…
Are you traveling as much now that you’re pregnant? What inspired you to take a notary class? What do you hope to accomplish? Will Jeffrey be taking a break from seminars and writing when the baby arrives?
Have a great Saturday! School is cool!! :-)

Goodies.

I was finally able to pull this vintage white dental cabinet from storage – because it now has a home in the future nursery! Jeffrey and I found it at Watson Kennedy in Seattle early last year. It's been crated up ever since, waiting for the perfect use. AHA! A great addition to the nursery…

{vicki} - I had a similar car too when I was little. Mine was white.

tammyt - Love your finds! Love Watson Kennedy as well…have fun putting together the nursery.
t

Sarah - What great finds! I LOVE the car!

Jessie - Really cute picture Jess!

Mom - I love that photo of you in the yellow toy car. What a great memory. I remember we had a red car when I was a child. I look forward to seeing your new baby driving around your special purchase.
Love, Mom

Heather V - That cabinet is great!!! What a find!
What a cute picture. Congrats on finding the little blue car like it. What a special thing to share with your little one!!

Anilu Magloire - That is gonna be one cool nursery!

jenn - Cool that you found your little one something that brings back awesome memories!

Donkey - Cool car and great pic!

Change.

Change is good. Yesterday I had about eight inches cut off my hair. It's been a long, long time since my last real haircut of this amount. It will be a nice change in the amount of time it takes to dry my hair! The shampoo lady yesterday said, "It the routine of life….

rena - Cute cut, I did a cut just like that yesterday. It is cute to style it in low pony’s right below your ears with it tousled on the top.

Jessica Fulkerson - Cute! Similar length to mine but I’m growing mine out still (recovering from the Posh Spice-ish bob) My hair is naturally curly / wavy and I love styling it that way at this length, because when it is longer, its too much to deal with.

jenn - It looks fantastic!!! I’m with you its always interesting to see how it looks on day two!!! LOL

lacy - super cute!

Danielle - I love your new haircut!

perfect bound - I’m growing mine out after years (years!) of a short style. It’s fun to imagine the possibilities of a new look. You look great!

Amy - LOVE IT!!! I’m in the process of growing mine out–it was about as long as yours was (before the cut) and I got it cut to above my ears. Like chel said, I’d love to hear any tips/tricks to styling.

Daphne - Jessica adorable haircut! It makes you look alot younger than 29 more like 24!!! What do you think of the dress Michele Obama wore last night? Have you taken a look inside the book A Year In Fashion? I just got it as a gift from a client. I love it.

chel - It looks very pretty. I actually really LOVE the way you styled it (even better than the professional). My hair has a similar cut and I’d love to know what products you use or any tips and tricks.
Love it!

MNScrapbookmom - Kyra - I cut 8 inches off of my hair about two months ago. There is nothing better than a Shampoo, deep conditioning, Cut, dry, and blow – out. Wish I could afford to do it everyday. :)
Your new Haircut is beautiful. ¥

Nichole - It’s very cute! Being a longtime member of the long hair club, I did the same thing not too long ago!!
It’s liberating not having to spend the time with blow drying. It gives you more time for other things!!
You look great. Keep it up.
