Monthly Archives: July 2009Just came across this old picture that Jeffrey snapped of me wrapping presents last Christmas and the first thing that came to mind was "That's so Martha!" A far more beautiful Martha! Can you give some tips and tricks to scarf tying, pretty please? Pictures would be great to go along:) Love the Marthas! you are a little bit ‘o martha girl. haha love it! Love it! – VERY Martha. Super cool letter-writing wisdom is found in this 1946 "It's fun to write letters!" booklet.I love letters! Especially hand written ones, received for no specific reason. My mom sends them a lot. (My sister wrote on her blog about how lucky we are to have a mom that writes letters). And I keep every one… I agree with you. My grandmother wrote me weekly letters when I was in college and I still have them…all of them. I couldn’t throw them away. I’m so grateful to have a sampling of her handwriting and it is so fun to go back and read what was going on back in the day. It just doesn’t compare to a phone call, email, or text. No comparison. My cousin and I have been “pen pals” ever since we learned to write. If you love the art of writing letters you would probably enjoy this book, “The Guernsey Literary and Potatoe Peel Pie Society” It is set near the end of WW2 on a German occupied Brittish island. In fact, I am sure you have heard of it in the literary circles you move in. There aren’t a lot of books written in that style these days. Very enjoyable. Love your blog, love your style. It is truly a lost art. I am also blessed with a mother that writes, and each one is special. I need to write more often. Thanks for the reminder! Some things I love right now… 1. Happy birthday, Jessica! I was 30 when I had my first baby! What a wonderful, happy time of my life. My birthday is Monday–I’ll be 43 and my “baby” will be 13 in December. How the time has flown. Isn't it funny to think that each person, or each family, has a specific way of loading theirs. Just in case you're doing it the "wrong" way, here are some guidelines on how to do it BEST from Every Day with Rachael Ray. lol my hubby and I argued about HOW to load the dishwasher when we first married. Was pretty funny. We still load it differently Yes, I definately have my own way of loading the dishwasher. Certain things have to go in a certain place/way. And as I've loved (almost) every minute of being a mother, I've learned so much about myself in the process. This book has lots of other perplexing questions to ask yourself –… I call Mondays… MM’s for Marvelous Mondays because I get sick of going on fb and seeing people whining about them! lol I love them! I love the new blog header! I just bought the 5 book online!! It’s not for sale in Holland so I go with what you told me on your blog!!!!!! thanks for helping have a brighter outlook on Mondays!! I will print and look at that every Monday..as a reminder!! What a wonderful outlook on life to have (in regard to Mondays)! It sure brings stress levels down with that perspective. Hi Alexandra, There’s a girl on Facebook that I’m friends with I’ve never met her personally but I always notice on her updates that for everyday of the week she has something like…Happy Marvelous Monday…Happy Thankful Tuesday or Happy Wonderful Wednesday and so forth.I think it’s catchy! By the way, YOUR sister totally ROCKS! I like the changes on your blog, although I feel the banner is a little too big! |
