Loved seeing a look of wonderment on Gabreille's face this morning as we watched several pigeons delicately walk across our skylight.
UPDATE: I've been informed by my father that the creature in the above picture is actually a dove. Here's what he sent when I asked him if he was sure:
"Having spent many hours hunting both Doves and Pigeons, I immediately recognized the silhouette of the Mourning Dove. Slender, streamlined and possessing a long pointed tail differentiates them from their larger and more rotund cousins. We hunt both of these birds in early September with the Bantailed Pigeons leaving for the South on the first rain and the Mourning Doves hanging around into early winter before their migration to Mexico. Specifically, having had some experience with tail, your picture clearly shows the beautiful long slender tail that I have witnessed many times in the field. In addition, Doves have succulent white breasts that far rival the dark, extremely wild tasting meat of the Pigeon. Need I say more?"
So there you go. Thanks dad!
And how's this for a Halloween costume?!
