Northwest Food.

Feast your eyes on these. Fresh strawberries at Tacoma Boys. A grilled ham sandwich at Urbane. Jeffrey's short rib roll at Urbane. Refreshing lemonade. A Beecher's grilled cheese and fresh salad. Arguably Seattle's best pizza at Italian Spaghetti House on Lake City Way. Italian salad served family style. And there's nothing more delightful than an…

Cathy - Jessica,
Thanks for the info on the Daily Dozen. We just returned from spending Christmas in Seattle and we loved the donuts! I can’t believe we’ve traveled to Seattle (and Pike Place!) more than 10X and have never had these bits of yumminess!
Thanks again.

Amy - I have always been SO curious about the Italian Spaghetti House and wanted to try it. After seeing that picture, I’ll definitely make it over there.

Sarah - You are making me very hungry right now! I want a Beecher’s grilled cheese stat! I may have to settle for the ones they are selling at Metropolitan Market though:) It was great seeing you while you were in town. We had a lot of fun at the party you threw for Jessie. Hope to see you again soon…maybe at playgroup?:)

jessica - Hi Meryl!
I believe this to be my recipe for control around delicious foods:
2 parts don’t overindulge. 1 part stay active. 1 part genes and metabolism. 1 part eat balanced.
Hi Cathy!
The mini donut place is called the Daily Dozen. If you’re heading south in Pike Place Market past the flying fish place, take a left down the walkway that takes you back out to 1st and it’s there on the left-hand side before the magazine stand. Here is a bit more info http://www.yelp.com/biz/daily-dozen-doughnut-company-seattle
Hi Melanie!
Yes, Gabrielle is definitely beginning to check out the foods we eat. I love when she is on my lap and I take a bite and if I look down at her she just smiles – with a little grin that says “May I have some?” Too cute.
Cheers!
Jessica

Meryl - Here’s the real question…how do you maintain any sense of discipline and self control around so much beautiful and (surely) delicious food?
Tell us! How do you keep that foxy figure? Inquiring minds wanna know! :)

Cathy - Hi Jessica,
Can you tell me the location of the mini donut place?
thanks!
Cathy

melanie - hee hee – it just seems so unfair! i’m sure gabrielle will catch up as soon as she is able. does she watch you eat with the “i know your food is better than mine” stare?

Ali.

It's such a delight to come to an age of realization and discovery in which you know what incredible people your siblings are. This is definitely the current case for me in regards to my sister, Ali. Wow, what a gem she is. What a daily inspiration to so many people whose lives she has…

shari anderson - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this Dr. Suess Quote. I put this up as a Large Rub-on on my daughters wall. I hope that she will always be inspired to be herself….so far, so good!

jessica - Hi Kal,
I’m unsure of who to give credit for on this quote! I hope it’s Dr. Suess, he was brilliant!
Hi Jennifer,
The item in this picture is a small paperweight that I saw at Watson Kennedy in Seattle, Washington. http://www.watsonkennedy.com/store/Main.asp
Here’s a link to one you can buy if you’re interested http://www.shopembrace.com/Default.asp?PageID=12&ProdID=412
Thanks for visiting!
Jessica

Kal - I think that quote is Dr. Suess. Is that right?

Jennifer - Can you tell us what/where that is? It looks like a coaster or something stationery related.

Linda - LOVE THAT…it is an absolute truth!
