I'm excited to watch the Grammy Awards tonight. For the fashion. For the music. And especially for this year's tribute to the late Michael Jackson. Would you like a chance to witness never before seen rehearsal footage, delight in his brilliance, and admire him for his incredible talent?  I'm giving away a copy of the…

Heather S - My fav is Thriller! He inspires me to dance, dance, dance! I grew up dancing and watching him, and whenever I see him dance I just have to!!

Kathy - My favorite is still Thriller…you just hear a couple of notes and it transports you right back to the early ’80s…I remember buying the cassette tape and listening to it over and over and over again!

Raimi - hard to pick one just one favorite song…i love them all. i love how he promted love, kindness, & peace through his music.

Asebert - Hard to pick but I’ll choose Man in the Mirror. You know how sometimes you sing the wrong lyrics forever, even though you know they are wrong but can’t figure out the right ones. Well for the longest time when Michael sings ” No message coulda been any clearer.” I would sing ” No mustache gonna bend any clipper.” I know, that makes no sense :)

Cheri P. - I love Michael Jackson. I grew up listening to his music. I used to go to the roller skating rink and remember skating to alot of his wonderful songs…such good times!!
My favorite song now is Heal The World. It’s so inspiring especially in these hard times that everyone is facing. My favorite all time song is The Way You Make Me Feel. I love that song!! It makes me want to get up and dance. It’s just one of those songs that makes you feel good when you hear it.

elizabeth - we watched This is It on BluRay this weekend and it was fantastic!! I will definitely be buying it after getting it from Netflix. So so good!

Jilly - I am a Thriller girl. Love the song. Remember watching the video when I was in first grade, being amazed at the theatrics and the dancing, and the ghoulishness of it all. Thriller was the first record I ever bought. My grandmother bought it for me at Record Town for $9.98. I played it on my Sesame Street record player. We are passing on our Michael Jackson love to our four year old. He is a Michael Jackson fan already and loves watching him on TV or listening to him in the car. One day I will explain to him all about my first record and hope he has some idea what a record is ;-)

{vicki} - BILLIE JEAN is my favorite

Bon - “The Girl Is Mine… the doggone girl is mine” (with Paul McCartney) – I love it! I have the Thriller vinyl record and I used to play that song over and over again, singing in the mirror to myself. The memory inspires smiles and fond childhood memories. I thought the record was the cat’s a$$ – of course I still do! :)

Stephanie S. - I hope this counts because it’s a Jackson 5 song but it is my absolute favorite tune that Michael Jackson sings – I Want You Back – I love this song, so great. Music for me is very connected to sports. I can remember in high school making special mixed tapes to play during our warm ups. Ahh – the days of mixed tapes…

Patty W - It is hard to pick just one – but I think my absolute favorite is “Human Nature”. Music has always been a big part of my life – I played piano for over 10 years starting when I was 4 or 5, and was in band all through high school. I also played for Sunday services as well. Now that I am a mum, I am thrilled to see that my toddler girl loves music as much as I do – and my DH and I often remark that if we were to be stranded on a desert island and had to choose between music and TV the TV would get chucked into the ocean!

Czarina - My favorite Michael Jackson song is “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.”
Music inspires me to achieve and helps me enjoy the moment or think back on happy memories. I love a variety of music and can’t imagine life without it.

Anita - I’m not commenting to win the DVD but for all of you out there who haven’t seen this movie, whether you win it or not, you need to own it. I saw it 3 times in the theater and just bought the DVD for endless marathons at home. It is amazing. If you are not a fan, this will make you one.
Music is huge in my life. It has provided the soundtrack of my life and there is not one era of it that Michael Jackson has not provided a track for.

Jen - Beat It! I distinctly remember roller skating up and down my driveway with this blasting out of my little aqua blue boombox! LOVE MJ!!!

Patti - I’d have to say Thriller is my favourite Michael Jackson song. No matter where I am, what mood I am in….. the beat just gets me back in my ‘groove’.
Music has always inspired me…. it keeps me grounded…..takes me away to another place, if only for a short time. It reminds me of my youth… and I can reflect on both good times and sad.. but then I’m grateful cause without that I wouldn’t be who I am today.
Thanks for a chance to win Jessica!!

robin - wow ..Tori said it all so perfectly..my fav MJ song is “don’t stop till you get enough” as well (though I too love just so many of his songs) ..music inspires me with a feeling of youth and freedom and grabs my heart with emotion unlike anything I can read or see..I can’t imagine life without it!

Lauren - “Billie Jean,” because it brings back so many memories… The best being my bachelorette party with my close girlfriends. I am normally a mild-mannered person, but once I heard “Billie” playing, I was moonwalking with the best of them. How’s that for inspiration? :-)

Kim Hacking - Black & White is my favorite Michael Jackson song. Music is such a memory trigger for me. Every song in my past resonates with me when I hear them in the present. Strong ties music and memory!

Kimberly L.C. - I love PYT. To me, it is quintessential MJ. But honestly, so many Michael Jackson songs inspire me. I love the soul he put into his music and how it took his songs to another level. It inspires me to know that if I truly love something and put my heart and soul into it, it will be better.

jen - It’s so tough to pick one … his music was such a part of my childhood (the first cassette tape I bought!). I remember making up dances to quite a few songs with my friends! Billy Jean is one of my faves!

erikap - My favorite Michael Jackson song is Another Part of Me.
His music reminds me of a connection with my mom, who passed away nearly 10 years ago, she loved Michael and she passed that love of his talent to us. He was amazing. We even went as a family to watch the Bad tour.

Melanie - I don’t know if I can pick just one! I love Thriller and used to practice the dance moves with some of my best friends in the living room. I also love classics like Billie Jean. I used to pretend I could do the moonwalk. MJ was such an icon and inspiration! I am so sad he’s gone.
I think his legacy is evident of how much impact music can have on a person.

Crystal T. - My favorite Michael Jackson song is “Heal the World”. Right now our world needs healing and this song has been going over and over in my head.

Josefina Dieguez - I’d have to say one of my favorite MJ songs is Billie Jean…it reminds me of when I was a kid growing up in Atlanta. My 2 sisters, brother and me would sit and watch the video repeatedly and then make up our own choreography. Fun times, great memories!

Kelly Jo - It’s so hard to chose just one. I have been a die-hard fan (even when it wasn’t cool to admit) since I was about 15 years old, I am now 37. I will never forget the emotions and the atmosphere when my parents took me to his concert two nights in a row (4th row)!!!!
I will never forget the time he appeared on the Grammy’s and sang Billie Jean. To this day, when I hear that song I can picture in my mind every move he makes, hip-tilt, hat-tilt, crotch-grab, his sparkly jacket, etc. I think the TV viewers felt the electricity of that performance and I can’t imagine what the live audience felt. Amazing.
I would love to have this video. Honestly, it brings tears to my eyes every time I think of him being gone. What a loss.
I love music. It is a motivator and I an envious of the way artists put those feelings and thoughts into music.

Fleurishing - Billie Jean. It transports me back to very early days, sitting in front of my Dad’s Klipsch speakers, clutching the Thriller album. It changed the way I felt about music…at that point I had been exposed to a lot of my parents favorites, but this was something just for me. I also remember when the video came out, and him stepping on the blocks that lit up-I used to pretend the sidewalk would do that for me!

Tori - My favorite Michael Jackson song is “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.”
And how does music inspire me? Let me count the ways. It motivates me to achieve. It helps me enjoy the moment or think back on happy memories. When I’m sad, it comforts me. If I’m happy and the right song comes on the radio, everything becomes even better. I love music. All sorts of music. Thanks for giving me a platform to talk about it.

Snow day.

We awoke today to a light dusting of snow on the ground! And Jeffrey cooking challah french toast. Wonderful sights in the neighborhood. All bundled up and ready for our adventure of the day. Delightful ice. And deliciously large Fuji apples at the grocery store.

Thoughts.

Little thoughts to reflect on that I clipped out of the recent Martha magazine. Where do you start your day? Hungry? What would this mean to you?

robin - M-F..I start my day in bed with a holler “Winston…Time to wake up”…he’s the middle child..and I’m off to make coffee after I layer myself with sweat pants and sweat shirts..yes 2 ..over my thin little nightgown..and a pair of shearling boots..I’m quite a sight..I would like to suspend time somewhere around the time all my 5 kids were age 5 (don’t care how old I am, my head tells me I’m still young)..something about a 5 year old . ..not sure why..but then I would miss out on the years to come with seeing “their” children grow, which I often dream of…fun post jessica

Liz - I like to start my day by making the bed…days I don’t do this seem to get away from me on many different levels. Something about walking past your room and seeing a clean, neat bed, just waiting for you to climb in after a long day, makes whatever you have to do that day a little easier.

Love to LOL.

I love to laugh out loud. And this caption totally did it for me. Thanks Allison Lehman. In other delightful news, all things Tillamook Cheese are making me smile – especially their posts on Facebook (like "Tillamook® Cheese is putting a little loaf in your heart. Figuratively, at least. Technically, it should go in your…
