Gabrielle and I had a wonderful mommy and me trip out West to visit family – and ended up extending our stay for an additional week so she could get over her slight cold before the return flight home. Our home away from home was first at my sister's house in Eugene, Oregon, and then…

Hi Jessica- I have been following your blog for awhile now, after I stumbled upon it via your sis’s blog. I love it!! Just wanted to say hi after lurking for a bit. Also, I see that you are going to London with your sweet babe in a few weeks. We lived there for a year, and now live in Bath, UK and I just posted a Top Ten of traveling in London with a child. It is on my blog, I think on Fridays post..

We had a great dinner at Altlanta Fish Market with the public seminar staff for Jeffrey's birthday. Cheers! Jeffrey got to have his favorite – dungeness crab. And I had salmon – prepared Hong Kong Style, served over spinach and white sticky rice. Since it was a bit late for Gabrielle, we employed the video…

One of my faves in Atlanta. I hope you had a good time, you caught us on a bad weekend. Southerners can handle snow!
In Atlanta this week for Jeffrey's seminars. We stopped in for some BBQ at Pig-N-Chik. I had pulled pork with mac and cheese and corn – and got to share it with Gabrielle. BBQ makes you thirsty!

They actually catered a wedding I was in last year!!
She is growing up so very fast, isn’t she?
Her hair is so so so cute!
Oh she’s so sweet, look at that hair!
This is one of my favorite pictures of you, Jeffrey. It is an image that I will savor forever. It is what I see sitting across the room or across the table from you. It is you – in think mode. Your brilliance is inspiring. I'm celebrating you today. And I'm so proud and lucky…

cuuuute! love the daily pictures of her! buuut, do i spy plastic bags in your cart, in the latest shot of her?!
i could be mistaken, but if so, may i whole-heartedly recommend switching to reusable (or at least paper for the time being)?
BAGGUs are my personal favorite: http://www.thegreenlifecostore.com/m8_view_item.html?m8:item=621 Ochre, Peacock, Chocolate and Berry would look perfect on the arm of a fashionista like yourself!
just too too cute jessica!
This is funny, we were walking somewhere the other day and I looked down at Lucy and she had a post it on her rear. These two are obviously related.
I picked up a circle scarf from our neighborhood American Apparel last week. Great concept. So many options. If you don't love the colors they offer, here is how you can make your own. And here's another delightful idea – a super chunky cowl from Thrush Vintage.

I LOVE this! Great! Now I have to get one!! Miss you!
love those! what color did you get?
these are so popular lately..I bought my 1st one from target and wore it to death..my mom got another one for me for Christmas and I wear it around the house all day..so warm around the neck and they don’t make me feel like I’m being choked around the neck like a regular scarf..I really love these!
There is something so special about making purchases on Etsy. I love when the package arrives and you can tell the thought that went into packing the item up and sending it to a new home. Case in point here. I ordered a vintage Astro label maker from Swoonantiques and the seller created a label…

seriously…i love packaging, i am a complete sucker for it, and there is something incredibly thoughtful about the time people put into giving you the gift of their product…love it
That was an awesome thing to do! I’m going to go check out her etsy shop! Thanks for sharing.
Tina J.
How sweet! It’s the little thoughtful details like that make me appreciate a business even more…that make me feel like they care about more than just selling something. =)
Hope you have fun using the label maker.

I too love milk glass cakeplates. I have all my perfume bottles displayed on one in my room.
I LOVE that everyone loves white cake plates! I’m thinking I need to do a cake plate giveaway. But then I realized that would be too difficult to not keep it for myself!
Cheers everyone!
Jessica
I love them too! I have one that was my Non’s – it’s a treasure.
I love these too..don’t know why but every time I see one I go right to it .They’re just so pretty
I love milk vases, but now…I’ve gotta have at least one of those!
I really love them also. I’ve been searching for just the right one and haven’t found it yet though those bottom two in the left column might be close!
oops, was so blown away by the beauty of those cake plates I typo’d…meant: those ARE gorgeous!
oh those or gorgeous!
I inherited all of my grandmother’s milk glass and use it regularly (mixed in with the Fiestaware) as it reminds me of her. Love it!
I have that exact one on the bottom right. My granny gave it to me and I love it!
Such wonderful pieces to own. Works for any party you host since they can be for a shower, holiday, etc. Love it!

Hi Julia,
Great! You should attend.
Yes, I will be there.
Hope to see you!
Jessica
My sister developed scoliosis when she was 17 years old. They did surgery on her where they put two steel rods on either side of her spine, and fused in some bone fragments taken from her hip. She had to wear a body cast for six months, and then a brace for a few more months. This was done 40 years ago, and she has had a healthy, straight spine ever since. ( The steel rods were removed about 5 years after the operation ). Did your doctor ever consider doing this for you?
Hi Jessica – I just got an invite to one of your husband’s seminars here in Italy. Are you coming too?
this is such a cool take… thanks for joining us!
so true in my life too…the letter c in my spine
Took an afternoon walk to Phat Burrito. Gabrielle is now at the stage of eating where she can share meals with mama. Lucky her!

Denim on denim used to be my ultimate pet peeve. But I think in the above Shop Bop styling instance, it looks great! A few more takes on the look. Thanks The Swelle Life

remember when they called it the denim tuxedo? lol
I think the problem with denim on denim looks is that people forget that you still have to be thoughtful about it…that you can’t just throw any denim together and have it look good. Because these pictures? Are lovely examples of how the combination can really work. But I cringe a little inside when I think of the many other real-life examples I’ve seen when this didn’t work.
Love the bottom right look – the jacket-and-vest combo are fun! =)
I love the top one as well and think the “shades” are the key to the look..maybe I won’t be saying “no you can’t do that” so much anymore..just looks so comfortable yet stylish especially if you pair that 1st look with some high heeled stappy sandals
LOL @ Anne – I grew up near the boarder on the East coast and we too called this look Canadian Tuxedo. ![]()
I do like the top one the best.
Still not a fan, but I do like the rolled up jeans with the t-strap heels in the lower right. I have the perfect gold Cole Haans for that look. Sadly, that will have to wait for spring up here in the north.
I agree – denim on denim was a pet peeve of mine, too. But maybe the key that makes it look good is the same shade/color of denim. Thanks for sharing!
We used to call the all-denim look the “Canadian Tuxedo” (I blame my college years in Bellingham). Looks like those folks up north were just setting a trend.
Congratulations to Kelly Jo – winner of Michael Jackson's This Is It DVD.
