Monthly Archives: August 2010Eating colorfully makes me happy. Start with some lettuce. Add lots of chopped vegetables. There's no limit! Add a little fresh caught and picked dungeness crab. (Thanks Dad!) And top it off with homemade croutons. I thought I'd never say this, but here goes: I now love flossing my teeth! And it's thanks to my REACH Access flosser which works wonderfully and really does make flossing as easy as brushing. Very cool gadget. Funny…Henry just picked up one of these at the Dentist on Friday. He’s pretty keen on his too. Oh man I LOVE THAT THING! I have been using this for about 2 years. I love it. Quick and easy. ohhh…gotta get this… thanks jessica! i used to hate flossing too but now that I have a tool that works for me I like it too! It is worth noting that all flossing tools are not created equal Grandma Pati introduced Gabrielle to this container of amazing washed ashore treasures. Rocks to peekaboo through. Oops, there was also a slug in the bucket! All kinds of interesting pieces to touch and feel and toss. Yay for nature items that are interesting to investigate. Love you. a great reminder that the best toys don’t come from a factory There is incredible mental magic for me in bringing Gabrielle to the places where I got to be a kid. We are spending time at my parent's place on the Oregon Coast so that Jeffrey can write and dictate the content for his next book. This is a wonderful and magical nature-filled place. My now six year old was a late walker–she finally took off well into her 17 month Complete sweetness. How delightful that it lead to this tiny treasure trove of tasty treats in Tacoma! Gabrielle chose a candy necklace. I picked up some cherry jelly beans (super cute packaging) Flicks Dark Non-Pareils and sour tape. And sweet little Lucy checked out the licorice ropes. If you ever get the chance visit a Powell’s sweet shop. There is one in Willow Glen here in San Jose, CA that is PURE MAGIC! http://www.powellsss.com/go/index.cfm/locations/ Little candy shops like these are absolutely wonderful to come across! We have one in the Willow Glen are of San Jose that is just pure delight everytime we venture inside! LOVE the alliterative prose used in the caption under the picture of the charming storefront…very clever! Alliteration is probably my favorite literary device. Miss you guys!!! These shoes are proof that having a boyfriend with an eye for style is beneficial! "I picked these up for you, Jess. I knew you'd love them."
