Christmas.

I’m yet to get a picture that truly captures the magic of the Christmas Eve lanterns that line miles and miles of my most favorite streets in Charlotte each year, but I’m hoping – after I take some photo classes at The Light Factory starting next month (yay!) – I’ll be able to get one…

Autumn Delights – Part Two.

Sweet little treats for the fall festival.   Gabri-elle-phant!   Road trip with my sister down to the Oregon Coast. We were loving the moments of silence as Anna, Simon, and Gabrielle rested in the backseat.   Trampoline time.   Sweet peas at my parents. There’s no better fragrance or delicate bloom.   You’re a star, Gabrielle!   Strawberry in champagne…

Ophelia - is there a possibility that today, thursday, you are in Chicago on the west side of the Loop? Otherwise there is a twin of yours walking around The similarity was amazing. I had to actually slow down and take a second glance from the car.

Susan - Ok, I must find that Starburst pack, wow! Love the collage Jessica…and I’m also excited about the Chanel Jersey scent…and LOVE that quote. Thank you for the inspiration!

Suzette - I love this collage! I have just realized your feed is no longer showing up in my RSS! I am happy to say I am now caught up ;-)

Erin Huber - Love the “quiet mind” quote. Have you seen the Marc Jacobs ad campaign featuring Helena Bonham Carter (http://twenty2.onsugar.com/Marc-Jacobs-Fall-2011-Ad-Campaign-18287284)? It’s amazing. I want more Halloween pics! :)

Kim - Did you create this in Photoshop? Cool idea.

Rodin.

Here’s just a little photographic glimpse into what was inspiring me at the Rodin Museum in Paris. The Kiss.

Kim - Love your pics.

arliec - If you like Rodin, there’s a brilliant movie (from years ago) about his life and love with Camille Claudel – late 80s with Isabelle Adjani (the film is actually about her now that I think of it). Her sculptures are fabulous too. Love your shots of the museum – I’m inspired ;-)

Susan - Wow, incredibly inspiring…have always been a fan, but the color story here combined with the textures is just gorgeous.

Apple time.

One of my favorite friends, Britt, had a great idea for all of us to meet up at Windy Hill Orchard outside of Charlotte. Gabrielle was in heaven! There were apples to pick and eat. Gabrielle got to hold hands with Grace after the hay ride. And run through the fields with Frances. And giggle/flirt…

Wet.

In our top-floor of an old factory living space, we hear the rain hit the roof and it’s the most delightful and comforting sound I know. It’s a beautiful, rainy day here in Charlotte. I love rainy days. Must be something to do with my roots in the Pacific Northwest and the frequency of this…

Rue des Rosiers.

We are happily back home in Charlotte, North Carolina, but I still have lots to post about our experiences while living in Paris. Of all the streets we walked and spent time on, my most favorite was Rue des Rosiers (street of rosebushes). Because of its proximity to where we were staying, we visited this…

I look at your blog almost ever day. I just had to tell you how much I enjoy your website. You are amazing! Reading about your stay in Paris was the very best. I especially loved the picture of Gabrielle, you and your Mom walking. It’s especially cute to see how the three of you walk the very same way.

Britt Ricardo - My favorite post. Love everything and everyone in this post! xox

robin - how beautiful…your words and captures touch my heart jessica..thank you

Pati in Paris.

It was an extra special treat during our stay in Paris that my mom made the trek from Seattle to join us. She fit in perfectly with our scheduled joy-filled days of discovery. Carousel!

This was the glorious moment of our stay in Paris when Jeffrey and I Gabrielle fell in love with all things carousel! There’s a very specific process for carousel riding. You procure tickets from the attendant. You pick out which contraption you’ll ride in. Your adult places you and buckles you in. Then the attendant…

One of my must dos with Gabrielle in Paris was to visit Le Jardin d’Acclimation – a wonderful, whimsical, (and ancient!) amusement park on the outskirts of the city that was opened in 1860 by Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie. We entered the park by way of the mini train that takes you through the…

Jenny - Jess, Paris is the most magical of all cities in my opinion. No matter where I travel I always want to go back to Paris. I took my 5 year old a few years ago and she was absolutely enchanted (especially when we took a day trip to Versailles!)! Enjoy your time there – I envy you!

I heart Paris.

The apartment we intended to rent for our summertime stay in Paris ended up not working out – and we’re so grateful because where are, in the heart of Le Marais, couldn’t be any better! Just about 100 steps from our front door are two delightful sandboxes at Place des Vosges (the oldest square in…

Soaking it all in.

I commented to Jeffrey today that Gabrielle probably won’t remember spending this time in Paris – but that I will always remember her looks of interest, her giddiness, her ability to recognize landmarks, how she refers to the flat we’re staying in as “Paris,” how she stops to look at all that’s around her, how…

Christa H. - Dr. Hey is fabulous. A friend had severe scoliosis and had surgery with him about 6 years ago and he was able to fix her. Sue - Sounds like you’re living every successful woman’s dream……a happy, busy, fulfilling life surrounded by love. I hope your surgery is a success….my sister had scoliosis of the spine when she was a teenager back in the late 60′s. She was one of the first people in Canada to have surgery to straighten her spine by implanting rods in her back. After a few years, the rods were removed. The operation was a total success, and she has gone on to have a full, pain-free life, with no complications.

Suzette - Just added supergoop wipes to my Amazon cart…thank you!!
