I heart Instagram.

Instagram has been the coolest life addition for documenting moments and also for following the lives of some of my favorite people via the “feed.” Miss taking my outfit of the day pictures!   A delicious cream puff from Amelie’s.   Gabrielle’s favorite book Marcel the Shell.   An ice cream treat at Ghiradelli.   Gabrielle back in swimming…

jessica - Mary – Yes, I am so bummed about picnik closing. I tried using it through the google+ interface, and it’s just not the same. I’m in search of wordpress plugins that will allow me to create simple and easy grid collages!

Robin – Thank you! Find me on instagram when you get your iPhone!

Susan – Glad you like the postalpix!

Robin – Thank you :) I let Jeffrey know your sentiment.

robin - oh and I forgot to mention the “12″ necklace…tell jeffrey I think it’s so pretty and so thoughtful of him to have given it to you

Susan - I ordered a bunch from Postal Pix…loving it!! Thank you for sharing that tip!

robin - I just love your collages jessica!…I don’t have an iphone and want one just for instagram. The pic of gabrielle “ready for bedtime” is my favorite

Mary Collier - Thanks! I saw that picknik is ending soon?…hmm I was hoping it was some magical app you found to avoid using PS :) If I find something I’ll send it your way.

jessica - Hi Mary! I uploaded the photos from my iPhone into Aperture and then moved them into picnik.com and used their “collage” feature. Very simple to do. I’m looking for other ways to share too, so if you find any let me know!

Mary Collier - I’m very curious as to how you put your collage together? I LOVE your instagram posts and have struggled with sharing in a creative way.

jessica - Likewise Suzette! So fun to see what you’re up to!

Suzette - love Instagram and love following you on there ;-)

You at 2.

This is you at two. When you wake up in the morning, KA-POW! You expect all other members of the house to jump from bed and get moving. I love it. I love that zest for life. You’re fully toilet trained. It happened quite naturally. And now you’re pretty happy to no longer wear PullUps….

Lannie - This is absolutely wonderful and I know Gabrielle will love reading it as she grows…..

Mefi - love the happy chair comment. i could use that for me and the children. thanks.

jessica o'brien | jessohbee - i love your note about your technique of the “happy chair” and how you’re teaching her that she has personal power over her emotions. this wasn’t something i learned clearly until well into my 20s. so wise of you.

robin - hard to believe she’s 2…a beautiful child inside and out and an even more wonderful mom who continues to document and admire just how special she really is! Your post continue to be an inspiration for my day…thank you

Anastasia - Absolutely beautiful

Debbie McIntyre - Beautifully said and how wonderful that you took the time to write this all down in detail. Truly beautiful. Hard to believe how fast the two years has gone by. xo

Rebekah Crowley - Sounds just like her Mama and Papa and oh so beautiful.

Sarah - Everything about this is awesome. She sound like such a sweet little girl.

Ali - Oh you know I think this is AWESOME – especially the yes attitude part :) .

Sue - What a wonderful life story for a beautiful two year old! Gabrielle sounds like she has developed a wonderful personality, and a very inquisitive mind! You have shown her so much love, and exposed her to so many interesting experiences in her life. She will treasure reading the journal you have kept for her when she is older!

Père Lachaise

Happy Friday the 13th! Today I’m reminded of our visit to Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris last August.

jessica - Hi Glynis – Enjoy your trip! Paris is magical. We’re planning another summer visit this year and I’m already working on my new “must visit” list! My camera is a Canon 50D and these pictures were taken with a Canon 28-135mm lens.

Glynis - Hi Jessica. Love your Paris pictures. My husband and I are planning to visit Paris later this year and I have loved reading you posts. What camera and lenses did you use?

Happy - Always good to revisit back your photographs.

January delights.

Chanel’s Glowing Blush Harmony. So pretty.   Love Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2012 strappy shoes.   Happy Mama&G time in Charlotte.   Crazy Fair Isle leggings on a cold day.   I’m so excited to be doing Ali’s suggested Project Life. And at the same time I’m loving Instagram. The result is the sweetest little prints from PostalPix…

jessica - Linda – I used Picnik.com to make the collage. They were bought out by Google and will soon be offering all their services for no fee. Woohoo!

Robin – The sound quality is perfect (depending on the quality of the record). We are so enjoying having a record player in the home!

Mefi and Suzette – I love PostalPix! Also just received some of the Instagoodies stuff I ordered. Definitely recommend both!

Thank you Jordan and Lou!

Linda - Jessica- may I ask what rogram you use for your wonderful photo collages?

robin - another great post…love finding out about items you or jeffrey love, I click on each link. and that last photo of you is killer, you look absolutely gorgeous. My huband and I were looking for an old turntable at sleepy poet yesterday but the one you show looks great! how’s the sound quality? I’d loved to just get out some of our old lp’s and start collecting vinyl again.

Mefi - Thanks for the PostalPix tip.

The Frat Pack + Me - So you like PostalPix? I am still waiting on my order!

Jordan - Happy New Year! I love the way you captured the month. Beautiful Jess!

Liz - You are a darling darling girl. I love you. And you know I love me some red lipstick!

So many books…

My current stack of must reads keeps getting taller and taller. I’m hoping to find time to get through all of these at some point in the near future. Most have come as a recommendation from a friend – so that makes their completion that much more important! Poke the Box by Seth Godin.  The…

Asha - Just finished reading Price of Privilege after seeing it on your blog. LOVED it!!!

robin - great post… I’m interested in those first 2… some inspirational reads might be the kick I need right now

linda - Love this stack! I see blogs in much the same way I used to view old boyfriends…. if you walk away with one new thought, a song that you hadn’t heard in quite that way before, or a book recommendation…it is a total WIN! Thank you, for today’s win!

Erin Huber - Ordering 365 Manners from Amazon right now!

Suzette - I have read 365 Manners and it was a great reference. This stack made me miss actual books as opposed to my Kindle.

Katie Orse - These titles look very interesting. I’ve been searching for some new books to read and can’t wait to search them out. Thanks for the ideas!

Ali - Read the Paris Wife and then share it with me – that’s one I want to read too.

Don The Idea Guy - I’ve read (and LOVED!) the top two.

Amy Quigley - Thank you for the reading selections! I just bought Momma Zen, and look forward to reading the rest!

paula w - Oh The Price of Privilege – definitely let me know how this one is. Would love to read it even though I don’t have kids. I have to remember that I either have to work with this new generation or manage them at work! :)

Hello 2012.

After 32 years of ringing in the New Year in a cool climate, I’ve now experienced the opposite – and plan to continue! It felt so good to put on some SPF and feel the sun’s rays against bare skin as I took time to reflect on all the wonderful blessings brought about in 2011….
